Fabrik Potsdam
International Center for Dance and Movement Arts – fabrik Potsdam is a nationally and internationally renowned center for contemporary dance, movement arts, and cultural education. Located in the heart of the Schiffbauergasse cultural district, it provides space for artistic productions, performances, residencies, and workshops. Its program includes dance and theater performances, festivals such as "Made in Potsdam" and "Tanztage", courses for all age groups, as well as international co-productions. fabrik Potsdam stands for openness, diversity, and the promotion of innovative performing arts – a place where professionals and audiences meet on equal footing.
Staatstheater Cottbus
Brandenburg’s Stage of Diversity – the Staatstheater Cottbus is the only multi-genre theatre in the state of Brandenburg and an architectural highlight. The Art Nouveau building designed by Bernhard Sehring opened in 1908 and is regarded as a Gesamtkunstwerk - total work of art combining architecture, painting, sculpture, and decorative arts.
With its four divisions - music theatre, drama, ballet, and concerts - the theatre offers a diverse programme for all generations. Around 16 premieres and approximately 400 events are presented each year, including operas, plays, dance productions, symphony concerts, as well as formats for children, young people, and schools.

T - Werk
The International Theater Center T‑Werk in Schiffbauergasse, Potsdam, is a vibrant hub for independent theater, founded in 1997 as a merger of two local ensembles. Since 2004, T‑Werk has been using its modern venue in a former riding stable, featuring a theater hall, rehearsal stage, café, and conference rooms.
T‑Werk is a creative center that views theater as an open, intergenerational, and international dialogue – cultural, inclusive, and inspiring.
Theater am Rand
The Theater am Rand is a unique private theater located in the idyllic Oderbruch region, in the village of Zollbrücke, right on the Oder River – at Germany’s eastern geographical edge. It was founded in 1998 by accordionist Tobias Morgenstern and actor Thomas Rühmann as an intimate living-room project with only 32 seats.
The Theater am Rand is a vibrant cultural beacon – artistic, sustainable, and close to nature and its audience. It is for people who value art as an experience in harmony with the landscape.
Theater des Lachens
The Theater des Lachens is an established part of the cultural landscape in Frankfurt (Oder) and has been a creative hub for imaginative children’s and youth theater, modern puppet theater, and experimental forms since its founding. Since 1994, the ensemble has found its home in a former machine hall of an industrial building, delighting audiences with original productions, international guest performances, and cross-genre projects.
Each year, several in-house productions are created and presented in around 150 performances on the home stage as well as on tours in Germany and abroad. In addition to puppet and drama productions for children and adults, workshops, festivals, and collaborations enrich the diverse program. The Theater des Lachens is more than just a stage – it is a place of encounter that playfully inspires reflection, crosses boundaries, and continually sparks wonder.
Neue Bühne Senftenberg
The Neue Bühne Senftenberg is a traditional drama theater in Lower Lusatia and has been the official state theater for the southern part of Brandenburg since 2017. Founded on October 21, 1946, in a converted gymnasium, it evolved from a miners’ theater into a cornerstone of the region’s cultural life. Each year, the theater presents around 16 in-house productions with over 300 performances – ranging from classics and modern dramas to musicals and family- and children’s formats. Readings, cabaret, and concerts complement the program. The Neue Bühne Senftenberg is much more than a theater – it is a vibrant cultural venue that combines tradition, innovation, and community.
Bürgerbühne im Kleistforum
The Citizens’ Stage at the KleistForum is an innovative theatre project that actively involves people from Cottbus and the surrounding region in the artistic process. It offers a unique platform where non-professionals work together with professional directors, actors, and artists to develop, stage, and perform plays – true to the motto: theater by citizens, for citizens.
Uckermärkische Bühne Schwedt
The Uckermärkische Bühnen Schwedt (ubs) are a major cultural center in northeastern Brandenburg – a single-genre theater with its own acting ensemble and an extensive program of guest performances and events. The Uckermärkischen Bühnen Schwedt combine a professional theatrical tradition with cross-border cultural work and participatory projects such as the Citizens’ Stage. In this way, they have become a vibrant hub for theatre, music, festivals, and cultural community in the region.
